Graham Kerr, The Galloping Gourmet, was one of three presentations on the Sysco Demo Stage at the Northwest Foodservice Show in Seattle on April 18. Mr. Kerr taught restaurants how to prepare a 150 calorie appetizer, a 500 calorie entree and a 150 calorie dessert.

Chef Amadeus featured low sodium cooking and the Gluten-Free Girl brought operators up to speed on incorporating gluten-free offerings into a menu.

Hot Culinary Techniques at the Northwest Foodservice Show

Culinary icon, Graham Kerr, will take the stage Sunday, April 18, at the Northwest Foodservice Show along with other hot chefs to show restaurateurs how to bring healthful cooking techniques into their restaurants. The focus is “make it healthy and tasty” and you will keep your customers coming back for more. Ranging from gluten-free cooking to spicing things up and reducing sodium, the Sysco Demo Stage will be an eruption of culinary techniques to inspire the creative chef and present profit-minded restaurateurs with options to improve their menus.

Monday, April 19,  is dedicated to a series of throw downs loaded with practical ideas that you can take back and implement within your restaurant. Bring some excitement and profit to your  happy hour menu, breakfast offerings and check out gastropub fair.

ProStart is a nationally accredited career-building program for high school students interested in culinary arts and foodservice management. ProStart students experience classroom study, mentored work experiences, as well as local and national competitions.

43 Bands Entered, 3 Will Play: You Decide Who Rocks Seattle SoundBite 2010

Seattle SoundBite is a City of Music event, unique in that only Seattle musical groups with at least one member working in the foodservice industry are eligible to perform. This annual pairing of great music and street-style bites is now in its third year. Net proceeds from Seattle SoundBite will be donated to ProStart and The Vera Project.
